On the proposition of Councillor Plummer, seconded by Councillor Thompson it was

That Councillor Robinson be elected as Chair for this meeting of the Licensing Sub-Committee.

Report of the Senior Licensing Officer

The Licensing Officer introduced report ES/2549 regarding the classification of 21 short films due to be shown at the Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge on 29 November 2025 as part of the Suffolk Shorts Film Festival 2025. The films had not been shown to the public before within the East Suffolk district and it was therefore necessary for East Suffolk Council to give them a suitable classification. The Sub-Committee was asked to determine the appropriate admission criteria for the films in accordance with British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) guidelines. Members confirmed that they had viewed the short films prior to the meeting.
Councillor Plummer noted that one film “Eyes Front” had been viewed previously. Councillor Robinson confirmed that he too had seen it at a previous Licensing Sub-Committee. The Licensing Manager suggested that they continued with the classification and then the previous classification would be checked, with the highest of the two being the classification that was issued.
