That Cabinet:

1. Approved delegated authority to the Strategic Director for Corporate Services in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Resources and Value for Money and the Cabinet Member for Corporate Services - Digital, Customer Services, HR and Assets to award a contract for Occupational Health Services following a tender process pursuant to the Procurement Act 2023 and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.

2. Approved the sealing of the resulting contract by Legal Services.

Reprocuring the contract in a compliant process will ensure spend with the supplier is regulated and set standards of delivery for the successful supplier to adhere to.

Option One – Proceed with Procurement Process As explained above, the Procurement Team will lead a tender process in accordance with procurement legislation and the Council’s internal Contract Procedure Rules in order to select a supplier. This will regulate spend and ensure standards for the service are adhered to.

 

Option Two – Do Not Proceed with Procurement Process The contract does not go out to tender. This would result in continued non-compliance with procurement regulations for this level of spend. In addition, there would be no formal contractual relationship in place to govern service delivery, increasing operational and legal risks.
