Budget Provision:

This report proposes an increase of up to 5% in fees and charges for visitor mooring fees, stage use and storage ashore at Southwold Harbour. In light of the proposed redevelopment of the Southwold Caravan and Campsite it is proposed that the site fees for the static caravans should remain at their existing pricing level with 5% applied to the touring pitches and other services provided. This paper excludes the business tenancies and fishing hut tenancies, which are negotiated separately.

This proposed increase is slightly above with national CPI rates and in response to rising operational costs across both sites – Harbour and Campsite. The increase will contribute towards achieving financial sustainability and maintain service quality.

Documents to be Given to Decision Maker:

The options to consider include:

1. No fee increase – this would limit revenue growth and potentially risk the quality of service provided at the sites as inflation increases the costs that the sites are exposed to.

2. A fee increase of up to 5% - This will ensure that the income rises to offset the inflationary increases in effect on the services delivered at the sites. It will help to maintain financial stability and keep visitor services affordable.

Decision Proposed:

That Cabinet:

Approved the proposed fee increases [Appendix A], of above 5% for the majority of services, to be implemented from 1 April 2026.
Decision Conclusion:
None
