Budget Provision:
The cultural sector has the potential to support the delivery of a number of Strategic Plan priorities. East Suffolk currently has a rich and diverse cultural sector but its true potential is not being realised in the absence of an overall plan – the experience in Lowestoft clearly demonstrates what can be achieved with a more focused and pro-active approach. The approval of this strategy and governance provides an opportunity to create a much holistic approach to cultural development within the district and deliver the benefits set out within report ES/1479.

Documents to be Given to Decision Maker:
To not produce and pursue the objectives of a cultural strategy.
Decision Proposed:

1. That the East Suffolk Cultural Strategy be approved.

2. That the appointment of a Cultural lead to co-ordinate the delivery of the strategy and associated delivery plan be approved.
