Budget Provision:
Timely and regular monitoring of the Council’s budgets is a key part of ensuring the Council’s activities remain financially sustainable and deliver value for money.
Documents to be Given to Decision Maker:
In-year quarterly monitoring provides an overview of the Council’s financial position as at 31 December 2025 and a forecast outturn position for the year ended 31 March 2026. No further approval is required but note should be taken of the key impacts and forecast changes which may impact the overall outturn position the 2025/26 and budget setting for 2026/27.
Decision Proposed:
It was recommended for Cabinet to note the following:
Noted the Council’s forecast outturn financial position as at Quarter 3 (April to December 2025) against the approved General Fund budget.
Noted approved budget change variations following the original 2025/26 budget approval in February 2025 and the impact on the General fund for the year.
Noted the areas of financial challenge for the current year and the Medium-Term Financial Strategy.
