Meeting Details

The Democratic Services Officer (Governance) opened the meeting and invited nominations for Chair.

On the proposal of Councillor Craig, seconded by Councillor Smith-Lyte it was 

RESOLVED

That Councillor Hedgley be elected as Chair for the Licensing Sub-Committee for the meeting. 

The Sub-Committee received report ES/1545 of the Senior Licensing Officer, which related to the classification of a four short films.

The Senior Licensing Officer advised that a request had been received to arrange for the classification of four short films to enable them to be screened at Aldeburgh Cinema as part of the Aldeburgh Festival 2023.  

As the films had not been shown to the public before within East Suffolk, the Sub-Committee was asked to give them a suitable classification in accordance with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) guidelines. The Sub-Committee had viewed the films in the week prior to the meeting.

Having applied the guidelines of the BBFC it was

RESOLVED

That the the films to be screened at Aldeburgh Cinema as part of the Aldeburgh Festival 2023 be classified as follows:

John Woolrich Kleine Wanderung (U)

Judith Weir String Quartet No 1 (U)

Joe Cutler Folk Music (U)

Helen Grime String Quartet No 2 (U)

On the proposal of Councillor Smith-Lyte, seconded by Councillor Craig it was 

RESOLVED

That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.
