Report of the Senior Licensing Officer
5

The Sub-Committee received report ES/1280 of the Senior Licensing Officer, which requested the classification of 22 short films to be screened at the Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge on 8 October 2022.

The report was presented by the Senior Licensing Officer and the Sub-Committee was asked to determine the appropriate admission criteria for the films in accordance with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) guidelines.  The Sub-Committee had viewed the films between 9.00am and 3.30pm on 21 September 2022.

The Chairman invited the Sub-Committee to comment on the films.  Members expressed concerns about some of the content of the film "A Howling Dog", where a person climbed up a makeshift structure; the Sub-Committee considered that this behaviour could be copied by older children and for that reason, the Chairman advised that this film would be classified as a 15.  The Chairman confirmed that the other 21 films would be classified as had been recommended to them.

Having applied the guidelines of the British Board of Film Classification, it was

RESOLVED

That the films to be screed at the Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge for the Suffolk Short Film Festival on 8 October 2022 be classified as follows:
