1. The ESC Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Policy; and
2. The joint Suffolk Rogue Landlords Policy
Reason for Decision
To provide guidance to enable a consistent application of the legislative tools available to deal with rogue landlords and energy efficiency standards in the East Suffolk area.
To be part of a Suffolk-wide move to align policies and practices across Private Sector Housing for consistency
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected
Do nothing – there is no requirement for either of these documents to be produced.
Produce an East Suffolk specific Rogue Landlord policy, (rather than adopt a Suffolk-wide document) – for the reasons stated in Sections 5 and 6, this is not deemed appropriate.
